The Oakhanger Barn
The Oakhanger Barn
This former agricultural portal frame, hay store has been beautifully transformed into an exquisite, recently built, architecturally designed barn conversion in the rural setting of Holmshaw Lane in Oakhanger, Cheshire.
You can choose any of the six entrance points, but let’s start in the entrance hall. This room, as the whole of the ground floor, features underfloor heating and a tiled surface. Here is where you get your first glimpse of the jaw dropping open plan living-kitchen-dining room, with its glass & oak balustrade landing looking down from above. It would make the hub of your home, with space for plenty to cook, dine, and relax. All this looks out through the two large bi fold opening doors and onto the garden. Supporting the kitchen and allowing you to hide away those noisier appliances is the utility room, which matches the kitchen furniture in design. For when you want that cosy space, there is a great sized snug with a wood burning stove. If the children need that place to play away from the hustle & bustle, they can, in the family room. If working from home is your thing, there’s also a study/office, which could double up as a guest bedroom, as it opens onto the ground floor shower room. It really does have everything the modern family needs. As you head up the open staircase you can choose to peer over the earlier mentioned hub, or you can access any of the four double bedrooms, which all have access to a bathroom and two jack & jill ensuites. The main suite has not only its own ensuite with freestanding bath and separate double walk-in shower, but a dressing room too. You can also wake up to countryside views through your own set of bifold doors with Juliet balconies.
